The Pony-Bun Hair Tutorial

This is an extremely easy way to
pull your hair back and make it
look like it took longer than 5 min to throw back.
And look like you actually have somewhere to go,
other than the park or the grocery store.
(which Im sure most of you do.
I, on the other hand, do not.)

Ok, so I do this hairstyle when no other hairstyle
will suffice. It may look like my hair is all fine and
dandy.  But rest assured, it is not.

This mane you see above is hair that was
washed the night before, never brushed
and air dried, in a bun.
Lets just go ahead and say, borderline dreads..

I start by pulling back the bangs,
and doing a small little poof with some  bobby pins.
(This hairstyle, takes lots of bobbys)

Then I pull it into a pony tail,
and secure it with a thick elastic.

Next, I take sections, aprox 5,
and twist them like so,
one at a time.

Twisting the piece into a loose knot
and securing it in place with about 2
bobby pins.

Once you have twisted, knotted and
secured all the pony pieces, it will
look like so.

Side view.

I like to split the pony tail and
pin half the buns above the elastic
and half below.
That way you're not fighting with
the elastic when you are pinning.

Ta da!
Now, you look way over done
to go to the park.
But hey, if you arent wearing any makeup
that day, it balances it out...

  4. I love this!!! As a mom of 4 under 5, my hair is always up and I wear it down when we go out (which is not that often), but I may be able to do this.
    Thanks so much!!!
